Hurricane Francine: U-Haul Offers Disaster Relief in Louisiana, Mississippi

NEW ORLEANS, La. (Sept. 11, 2024) — U-Haul® is offering 30 days of free self-storage access to residents in Louisiana and Mississippi who stand to be impacted by Hurricane Francine, which is expected to be near Category 2 hurricane strength when it makes landfall Wednesday afternoon.

A dangerous storm surge, high winds and flooding are likely to impact many homes and businesses in the Pelican State before the storm is forecasted to carve a path up through Mississippi.

Access to dry and secure self-storage can be vital for communities making storm preparations or facing recovery.

The U-Haul Companies of Southern Louisiana, South Central Louisiana, and Mississippi have made 39 facilities available to help. The U-Haul free offer applies to new self-storage rentals and is based on availability at each Company-owned and -operated location.
