U-Haul Extends Free Storage Offer in Tulsa Area after Owasso Tornado
Goodwill program offered on March 15 for statewide wildfires will remain in place at 6 U-Haul facilities after Wednesday’s tornado
TULSA, Okla. (April 2, 2025) — Six U-Haul® centers in the Tulsa metro area will remain available to provide 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box® container usage to residents affected by the tornado that struck Owasso on Wednesday.
Severe weather hit Oklahoma on Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning, with tornadoes touching down in multiple locations. Residential damage was reported in Owasso.
Access to dry and secure self-storage and portable storage containers can be vital to communities during the recovery process.
U-Haul Company of Tulsa president Jim Smith stated the 30 days free offer can include free U-Box delivery to and pick-up from home sites of tornado victims in Owasso who need on-site portable storage during the clean-up process.
The disaster relief program applies to new self-storage and U-Box rentals and is based on availability. People seeking more information or needing to arrange storage services can contact the nearest participating location:
